The Address as a guide for the development of the tourism industry in the era of independence

During the 34-year period of independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, the sphere of tourism and globalization in the Republic of Tajikistan has annually increased the presence of foreign tourists in Tajikistan. Today, since the Republic of Tajikistan is a full member of the World Tourism Organization, this has allowed Tajikistan and its historical, cultural and tourist regions to be included in the Book of the tourist map of the world, and the Republic of Tajikistan with all these regions of tourist importance, high mountains, clear waters, hospitable and humane inhabitants is known to the world, and thanks to this, tourists and Journalists from all over the world come to Tajikistan and bring good news, reports and information to the media in their countries. It should be noted that the Founder of peace and national unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, dear Emomali Rahmon, makes daily efforts to develop various spheres of society. Along with the restoration of peace and national unity, the Tajik people, under the leadership of their wise, wise and far-sighted leader, managed to achieve sustainable development and significant socio-economic results during the year of independence. Tajikistan, with its paradisiacal nature, charming landscapes, favorable weather and, most importantly, calm and peaceful, hospitable and civilized people, attracts foreign tourists from year to year. Visiting foreign tourists is beneficial from both an economic and a political point of view. After all, if, on the one hand, new jobs will appear with the development of the industry and, thus, incomes of the population will increase, then, on the other hand, the position of our beloved country in the international arena will increase. The spheres of tourism and folk culture are interconnected. When foreign tourists visit our country, they not only visit historical sites and recreation areas, but also get acquainted with folk crafts and buy souvenirs of these crafts, thereby promoting Tajikistan in their country. Today, thanks to the unprecedented development of science and technology, these industries can be further developed. That is, using the Internet, television and other modern means of communication, it is possible to promote unique landscapes and nature, as well as favorable conditions created in this direction for the whole world. With this in mind, the head of state, Emomali Rahmon, noted for the further development of the industry that "it is only necessary to create a modern infrastructure and ensure the quality of service at the international level." To realize these noble endeavors, every citizen of Tajikistan must first of all love this land like a mother and contribute to its improvement, protection and preservation. I would like to note that the previous message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon, was a prospect for sustainable development of the country in all spheres of the national economy, and in order to develop the tourism sector, adequately represent the country's tourism opportunities and national culture on the international stage, 2018 was declared the Year of Tourism and Folk Crafts Development in the country. After all, the nature and climate of Tajikistan have created favorable conditions for the introduction of modern tourism services and the development of their various types. It is only necessary to create a modern infrastructure in the country and introduce the quality of service at the international level. In addition, according to official data from the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, about 1.8 million foreign citizens visited the resort areas and historical sites of Tajikistan in 2025. This is 27.5% more than in 2024, as the tourist flow increased dramatically by 384,000 people. As Jamshed Jumahonzoda, Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development, said at the final press conference, residents of the CIS countries came to the republic most of all. Neighboring Uzbekistan became the undisputed leader, with more than a million visitors arriving from there. Russia came in second place, with 396.4 thousand people arriving in Tajikistan. Also, the five countries whose citizens most often choose Tajikistan for trips include Kyrgyzstan (137.5 thousand), Kazakhstan (37.2 thousand) and China (33.1 thousand). In total, more than 1.6 million tourists from the CIS countries arrived in Tajikistan, while about 150,000 tourists from non-CIS countries visited the republic. The analysis shows that tourism in Tajikistan is recognized as a priority sector of the national economy, and many activities are being carried out in this direction. They are aimed at the development of tourism in the republic, including the creation of the necessary infrastructure to attract foreign and domestic tourists, the development of health and resort tourism, attracting investments, grants and the implementation of state investment programs, a broader representation of the republic in the international arena, finding stable positions in the global tourism market, creating conditions adapted to the needs of foreign tourists, training of highly qualified specialists in the field of tourism, an increase in the number of travel companies and, due to this, an increase in the number of vacancies. I would like to note that on December 16, 2025, another Message from the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon to the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan "On the main directions of the Republic's domestic and foreign policy" was broadcast live in the Parliament building, in which the head of state stated: "We must not only be proud of the world heritage of our ancestors, but also and to own, study, continue and serve as an invaluable treasure for future generations. We will leave an identity document as a legacy. I am sure that together we will continue to work for the development and development of our beloved Tajikistan and the improvement of our beloved Homeland, achieve all our good goals and further strengthen the authority and image of the Tajik state in the international arena." The Message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Majlisi Oli serves as a guiding document for the development of tourism in the country. Due to the improvement of infrastructure, staff training, the introduction of digital technologies and the creation of stimulating conditions, Tajikistan's opportunities to attract foreign tourists are increasing. These measures contribute not only to the development of the national economy, but also to the presentation of the country's unique culture, nature and heritage in the international arena. In the coming years, the implementation of the proposed measures could transform Tajikistan into one of the leading tourist destinations in Central Asia. It should be noted that the issue of tourism development has been the focus of attention of the Government of the country since the first years of state independence, especially the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, and in the early years of independence, the issue of regulating the tourism sector was entrusted to several ministries and committees. In 2017, an independent body, the Committee for Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, was established to develop the country's tourism industry. In short, the tourism industry is one of the most important areas of employment for the working-age population, improving people's living standards, developing other areas of services and production, as well as representing history, culture, nature and national traditions. In the light of the creative and constructive policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity, the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, the tourism sector in the country has gradually developed and achieved significant results. It is popularly believed that it is in this country that the God-fearing people live, and in other countries-the God-fearing people.
