History of Fire Safety Department of the Faculty No. 5 of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan

The Department of Fire Safety of the Faculty No. 5 of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan was estab-lished in 2009. After the formation of this department, the leadership of the Academy of the Republic of Tajikistan was also asked about the formation of the department, protection in emergency situations. Between these two departments there is a close relationship in the training of engineering personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The basis for the formation of the Department of Fire Safety was the Department of Engineering and Technical Discipline of the Faculty No. 3 of the Academy of the Republic of Tajikistan, it was at this department that such prominent doctrines of the Academy as candidate of technical sciences, associate professor Gafurov M.Kh., candidate of technical sciences Umarov M A.A., Candidate of Technical Sciences S.Narzulloev, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences F. Holmurodov, leading specialists of the department with rich practical experience S.G. S. Gaurov, S.Salohiddinzoda, S.S. Nazarov, and many others. It was the forces of these scientists and with the support of the leadership of the Academy of the Republic of Tajikistan in the structure of the Academy of Faculty No. 5 that the Fire Safety Department itself began to function. The first head of the department was the colonel of the internal service S.Gayurov S. At the initiative S. S. S.Gayurova, in the previous years the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan began training the first personnel of fire safety engineers. He made a huge contribution to the education and development of the department. Gayurov S.Sh. headed the department from 2010 to 2013.

After retiring Gajurov S.S., continues his teaching activities at the department and conducts classes in special disciplines. From 2013 to 2015, the head of the department was appointed lieutenant colonel of internal service Katikov Kh.B. who arrived from the Main Directorate of Fire Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan. During his work the department strengthened its teaching and methodological work, the basic educational programs on the disci-plines of the department were published.
Since October 2015, the head of the department was appointed as a sub-colonel of the militia Hamidov A.S, with a great pedagogical status. Under the leadership of Khamidov A.S, such specialists as assistant professor Colonel F. F. Holmurodov, senior teacher of the department, S.S. Salohiddinzoda, a senior teacher of the department, and Colonel of internal services of Katikov H.
Also at the department there are young teachers: the police major Shamsiev Z., senior police lieutenants Rakhmatshoev S.R, Saidov F., Yakubov F.A, Ibodov M., Muzafarzoda A., Kamolzoda N., and the specialist officer sergeant of the militia Majonova N.
At the department headed by Khamidov A.S. work is under way to improve the teaching and research and research work.

- Stability of the building with the environment in case of fire
- Theory of fire and fire fighting
- Prevention of fire in technological processes
- Prevention of fire in construction
- Automatic control and communication system in the state fire ser-vice
- Preparation of rescue in case of accident
- Fire fighting equipment
- Organization of management of the state fire service
- Organization and preparation of fire fighting service
- Administrative and legal activities in the State Fire Service
- Service against gas and smoke
- Electrical engineering and fire prevention in electrical devices
- Civil Protection and Mobilization Service in the State Fire Service.

The academic disciplines of the department are taught in the form of lecture, seminar and practical and laboratory classes. Practical and laboratory employment is conducted in the Main Department of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
In recent years, the department has focused on raising the qualifica-tions of young teachers and engaging them in scientific and methodologi-cal work.
On this basis, the department published more than 15 scientific arti-cles on the theory and practice of fire safety. Work continues on the pro-duction of textbooks on the subjects of the department. Graduation stu-dents and students of the Academy defend their thesis work according to the approved topics during the final certification.

The department cooperates with the Main Departments of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, the National University of Tajikistan, the Polytechnic Institute named after M.S. Osimi, the Institute of Physics of Technology named after S.M. Umarov of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan and with other scientific institutions.
The chair for the last 3 years has prepared many specialists on fire safety and emergency protection; the graduates received positive feedback from the manuals of practical fire safety units.

The faculty of the department actively participates in scientific con-ferences, roundtables, seminars on practical problems and the theory of fire safety, as well as meetings of scientists, veterans and fire safety practitioners with cadets and students of the Academy.
In general, the faculty of the department conducts effective work on improving the educational process, training highly qualified personnel for the needs of the Main Department of the State Fire Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Committee for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
